Homemade Donut

Who doesn’t love donut’s.
Unfortunately the donut’s that are bought at retailers are full of everything that isn’t good for us and especially bad for our children’s tummy’s. The high sugar and colourings all add to a not so good immunity and health conditions especially if consumed a lot.

Here is my recipe to make your own which are gluten free, dairy free and refined sugar free.
I hope you and your family enjoy them as much as mine.

200g almond flour
20g coconut flour
1 tsp physillium husk
1 tbsp coconut oil melted
1 tsp baking powder (aluminium free)
2 tbsp organic coconut milk
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 eggs
80g pure maple syrup
80g pure honey
1/2 tsp pink salt

Pre-heat oven to 170 degrees
Mix all ingredients together well and pour into your donut moulds and bake for 15-20mins

Sit on a cooling rack and once cool ice with your favourite chocolate or whatever it is you like to ice with.
To make your own homemade chocolate melt 1/2 cup coconut oil, 1/2 cup raw cacao, 1 tsp pure vanilla extract and 2-3 tbsp pure maple syrup.
Once well blended you can pour on top of donuts and wait to set or place in fridge to set very quickly.

You can add some nuts, sprinkles (which I bought from a specialty health store so as not full of colours and chemicals), or some berries or cherries.
